En op LinkedIn krijg ik wel hele rare voorstellen van kennissen: Robin Hood, John Watson, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Einstein,… En allemaal met een mooi uitgewerkt profiel.

Omdat rommelhypotheken niet om mee te lachen zijn, wil ik jullie aandacht vestigen op dit intriest verhaal.

De New York Times is sinds vandaag maar beperkt toegankelijk voor niet-abonnees, maar als je via Google (News) gaat, kan je er nog altijd op.

Charles Arthur, the Guardian’s technology editor, points out that while MasterCard and Visa have cut WikiLeaks off you can still use those cards to donate to overtly racist organisations such as the Knights Party, which is supported by the Ku Klux Klan.

The Ku Klux Klan website directs users to a site called Christian Concepts. It takes Visa and MasterCard donations for users willing to state that they are “white and not of racially mixed descent. I am not married to a non-white. I do not date non-whites nor do I have non-white dependents. I believe in the ideals of western Christian civilisation and profess my belief in Jesus Christ as the son of God.”

Maar MasterCard, Visa of PayPal gebruiken om te doneren aan Wikileaks, ho maar. Blijkbaar hebben een aantal mensen de boodschap van de lekken niet helemaal begrepen…

Sinds dinsdagavond staat er een Speedtrap, een verplaatsbare flitspaal die zowel vooraan als achteraan flitst, geïnstalleerd in Antwerpen op de Amerikalei richting centrum/noorden, ter hoogte van de Jozef Liesstraat. Of die werkt, weet ik niet, maar het is bij mijn weten de eerste flitspaal in België die ook flitst vóór je er passeert én de eerste op de Leien die niet op een kruispunt staat. Ik ben benieuwd wat het gaat geven, want je mag er maar 50 km/u, maar langs de andere kant zijn er ook genoeg lichten die, zeker op drukke momenten, de snelheid breken.
